Piece Details
This torso is standing 55 cm tall. The pattern is inspired on the traditional ladies dress in Sabah.
It took me a long time to complete this sculpture made from paper and recycling different pieces: some plastic (for bas structure), stones (for weight and balance) and some 50 ringgit cent coins for the top belt; called a himpogot (coin belt) and the bottom one is painted and represents a tangkong (a very heavy brass ring belt) which are a sign of the wearer's wealth.
Painted and varnished with Amsterdam / Expert acrylics and varnish from Royal Talens
