She is a cute little blowfish made from one newspapers, paper, paper pulp and paper clay. And recycled materials (like plastic straws for the spikes). Cudi is approximate 19 cm tall. Painted with acrylics and varnished (brand: Amsterdam from Royal Talens).
Bola is another cat I made as I can not get enough of these gorgeous creatures! After making the cat with cardboard, old newspapers and paper pulp; it is so much fun to paint them. Especially with bright colors. She is approximate 78 cm high by 45 cm and painted and varnished with Amsterdam (Expert) acrylics from Royal Talens.
Sprickle is inspired on a blow fish and his colors are from a Mandarin fish I saw on one of our great dives here in Borneo. Underwater creatures keep amazing me with there beauty! Sprickle is approximate 23 cm big and made from old newspapers and paper pulp. And painted and varnished with Amsterdam acrylics from Royal Talens.
A gentle tiger painted on 60 cm x 70 cm stretched canvas. Painted with Amsterdam acrylics, inks and varnish from Royal Talens.
Started this painting last year but finally found the time to finish, varnish and frame it. Happy with the frame as it still shows the sides of the painting. Painted on cotton cloth on wood with acrylics and inks from Amsterdam by Royal Talens. The painting is 30 cm x 42 cm WITHOUT the wooden frame.
My impression of a Iguana painted with pallet knife on hard board 69 cm x 89 cm (without frame). Wasn't easy to find a suitable frame for Iggy: not available, to expensive, colour not right etc. But happy with the final choice as the frame matches perfectly with Iggy's eye. Painted with Amsterdam modeling paste, acrylics and inks from Royal Talens and varnished with high gloss varnish from Liquitex.
This beauty is called Cobra. Her name comes from the CoBrA movement as her colors are inspired by the colors Corneille (one of the members of the CoBrA movement) used a lot. Cobra is about 78 cm tall. So happy that it was finished in time to be exhibited in the New Talent Exhibition @ the Sabah Art Gallery in Kota Kinabalu. After the show, it will be sent on a long journey to its new home. Painted and varnished with Amsterdam acrylics from Royal Talens.
Very happy how this one turned out. Wasn't easy to make the wings but finally found some pieces of iron wire and used old newspapers to cover them. Furthermore used acrylic paper for the tail and a piece of (coral)stone that I found on one of the beaches in Sabah.
Mixed media painting of one of my favorite animals. This one is painted on canvas which is mounted on plywood. Little twigs are used together with modeling paste (with pallet knife) for the background. The wooden frame with the wood knots complements it perfectly. Size: 70 cm x 70 cm. Painted with modelling paste, acrylic paint, acrylic ink and varnished (brand: Amsterdam by Royal Talens). Kept it for 2 years hanging in my living room but now for sale.
